Ok guys, why do your dates all seem the same? If you are like me, then the answer is probably because we fail to plan our dates. We don’t start thinking about things until about 10 minutes before we walk out the door and jump in the car. If you want to have a great date with your gal then start planning it out well in advance.
Do you ever go on vacation without some significant planning? I’ll bet that rarely happens. So why let that happen on your date night.
Pick up the local paper and see what’s going on this weekend! Is there a play at the local theater, or a concert on the local college campus, or maybe a new restaurant opening up? Take some time and come up with something new and exciting. It doesn’t have to be expensive or glamorous; but it should be fun and new. Doing the same old thing gets boring both for you and your date. Going to the same old restaurant is safe but it isn’t fun and I am really guilty on this one. My gal and I always go to the same Mexican Restaurant; just about every weekend. It has great food, great service and we like it. But it’s the same thing and we have been doing it for years!
So right here, right now I am going to commit to trying a new restaurant on our next date. I am going to do a little research and find something new to do next weekend. No more “same old same old” for me and my gal. I want to heat things up a bit and it is my responsibility!!

Russ has a great post on a similar topic here http://romancerookie.com/make-date-night-fresh that references an article from the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/12/health/12well.html?_r=1 all of which to say that this is an idea that is long over due for everyone!
